Adrienne Kress is a Canadian author, writer, actress, and filmmaker. Kress is the co-author and co-writer for Five Nights at Freddy's: Return to the Pit, the "second" entry of the Interactive Novel series of books.

I'm Adrienne and I am, among many things, an author of Children's and Young Adult fiction living and working in Toronto, Canada. I have written several internationally published books (with the likes of Random House, Penguin and Scholastic), won awards, and been optioned for TV/film. I absolutely love working with mentees to help actualize the potential in their work and to also have fun thinking outside the box.
My most recent publications include "THE EXPLORERS SOCIETY" trilogy with Random House, and "BENDY AND THE INK MACHINE: DREAMS COME TO LIFE" with Scholastic. Primarily I write what is called Middle Grade (novels for 8 - 12 year olds) and Young Adult (ages 12+). I have recently entered into the world of horror with the Bendy books, but generally my works are fantastical absurdist adventures with a great deal of wit and whimsy. I am particularly interested in character driven work, and working on creating three dimensional characters for all stories (that might be the actor in me). That being said I love working with writers of all genres and for all markets. I host workshops on world building and brainstorming. I definitely am able to help with all facets of writing a work of fiction, whether it's a polish at the end of years of hard work, or trying to figure out the arc of the story at the very beginning.
My love of teaching stems originally from my parents who were both highschool English teachers, and honestly in another life I'm sure I would have been an educator. I have, in my role as "author", had the pleasure and privilege of teaching writing workshops all over the world for students ages 8 - adult, I have also as an actor taught acting since I was in my teens. I've toured with the TD Canadian Children's Book Centre Book Week twice (for those Canadians out there who know what that is), and have been a judge for many a writing contest.[1]
