Susie
I never liked working the nightshift at Family Fun Diner. It was always so boring staring at those stupid monitors and keeping watch over the animatronics every week. Sometimes I wished that those robots would move around at night so I wouldn't be bored. Well, at least I used to….
A new animatronic was delivered to the establishment yesterday, her name was Susie. She resembled one of those Moe schoolgirls that you see in various anime. She was also the very first animatronic in the establishment whose features were human. Almost too human…. Anyways, I had to pick up my daughter Lily from the daycare today. She’s a bit….. quirky to say the least, but I still care for her nonetheless. She always asked me to take her to the diner; which I often said no to, but today was her eleventh birthday, and I wanted to make the most of it.
The establishment was, as always, very lively. Pedro and his gang would make corny jokes and sing songs while the kids would play arcade games and bond with each other…. And then there was Susie, sitting in the parts and service in complete darkness……The party turned out to be very nice, Lily even made herself some new friends there. when we were heading out, she suddenly grasped my sleeve. Now usually when she does this, she is letting me know that she needs to use the bathroom. But when I asked her if she needed to go She replied “there was someone crying inside the parts and service room”. This had baffled me, no one - let alone a child - was allowed in the parts and service. I asked her if she was just imagining it, but she insisted that there was someone crying inside the room…
Later that day, I began the night shift. I enter the establishment and almost immediately I'm struck with a foul odor. I begrudgingly follow the smell and find myself standing in front of the parts and service. I enter the door and nearly fall flat on my behind…Susie was right there, standing in front of me with a toothless grin and the inside of the parts and service is a pool of red. I waste no time and hightail out of the establishment, and as I look back, Susie is just standing there, her dull eyes fixed on me as she started giggling….
It's been three months since then and I am now in a different state, working as a cashier at a local pharmacy. Lily still meets up with her friends every now and then, But everytime I see the new commercial for the Family Fun Diner I am reminded of what I had saw on that night…….
