It is possible that they decided to change a few things, but for the most part the timeline wouldn't line up, as TFTP takes place in security breach, which is implied to be in the future, while SOTM, or at least it's story is implied to happen in the 1970s.

So I know that in FNAF 1, people think the groans Bonnie and Chica make are air escaping,
But what if it’s something else?
What if its the sounds of the children in the animatronics making the same sounds that they did while dying?
You know that silly thing your brain does sometimes where it makes you see things that aren’t there in the dark?
Just as I was about to go to bed, an image flashed into my eyes for a few seconds:

Eventually, the robot accidentally killed Williams daughter, elizibeth, and somehow gained her memories.
Basically, the version of charlie that “survived” wasnt the real charlie, and neither was the one before her. Charlie never had a brother, only a daughter named Charlotte. After william killed her, Henry built several robots to simulate her growing up, fueling them with som agony trapped in her old ragdoll. Every time he made a new one, the more he realized how crazy he was, and eventually just left the adult version (the one that looks like circus baby out of their disguise) powered on, watching.

The toys arent possessed. In the savethem mini game its the withered ones getting stuffed, the reason we know the fnaf 1 animatronics are pssessed is because of a poster on the wall and maybe the noises bonnie and chica make, as well as how the classic animatronics seem very aware of the player, even going as far as to stare into the cameras, while the toys are just sort of wandering around.
Scraptraps design.
I know scott made it look like how it does for a reason, but he could have just done the same thing and keep it looking like springtrap.
Why do they have the funtime wires? They’re a classic animatronic, so it should have a normal endo head underneath the plastic covering.
I know its a joke, Although it would be pretty cool if they made actual restaurants.
