Five Nights at Freddy's 4 is the start of the convoluted messy obscure lore that we see today in the franchise. Many believe that Dream Theory was correct but was by Scott she to the negativereaction to the aforementioned theory. But I think that the even bigger problem is Five Nights 3! Like, seriously. I might just be a bad theorist, but I think that FNaF 4 had a much more satisfying story. Here's a satisfying interpretation of FNaF 4 that may not fit with the current lore, but certainly fits the initial game quad.
The crying child had a sister who was killed off by Purple Guy. CC witnessed this, and it forever left a terrible impression of Fredbear's, the alley near which his sister was killed off. This is why the Crying Child is so terrified of the dinner by the time FNaF 4 kicks around. His sister was the first victim to fall for the Purple Guy. The Bite of 83 happens and Fredbear's is sold to Fazbear Entertainment. They rebrand it as Freddy's and open it until the murderer strikes again this time killing 5 kids luring them using mascot costumes. It closes down only to reopen again in 1987. When, again strikes the murderer (and the infamous Bite of 87 happens). They finally reopen around 1993. But due to the Purple Guy destroying the animatronics, the restaurant shuts down. I guess. Fazbear's Fright opens up on 2023. Boom! All done.
I know it's not without problems. It doesn't even explain everything. Nut even everything from Five Nights 4. But it's sort of interesting. Ig? But Five Nights 3 just throws all this out the window with its phone calls and minigames and the shadow animatronics. According to Phone Guy, there was a spring lock failure in the sister location. And it's also implied that multiple restaurants were open ay the same time. But this couldn't be true even during FNaF 2. The restaurant is reopening presumably for the first time. And it doesn't seem like there are more restaurants running at the same time. The location in the first game was probably the lower budget comeback they mentioned atthe end of the second game. But... I hope you understand what I mean... And I'll ping all the members of the apparently not yet deaf campaign... soon. I'm tired bruh
