“Cassidy …. Why are you back again?”
“I could ask you the same thing…. Charlotte.”
“I came back for you. Why aren’t you resting with the others?”
“You know why, dummy.”
“Cass, this CAN’T go on anymore! Everyone else has moved on! It’s just you now.”
“I can’t let him go. I will NEVER let him leave. I will NEVER let him rest.”
“Cassidy…. This isn’t good for your soul. You’re becoming as evil and corrupt as he is.”
“Don’t you DARE compare me to him!”
“It’s true, you’ve become obsessed with punishing him. Please…. Leave the devil to his demons. There’s nothing else!”
“Your dad said the same thing. Don’t you hate him? For everything he’s done? All the suffering he’s caused?”
“I don’t hate him, not anymore. I just want him to stop, and stay out of my way.”
The Fazbear Entertainment van pulled into the loading bay for the warehouse repair facility, screeching to a halt. Vanessa parked the van and tapped on her Faz Pad for the Staff bots to come out and begin unloading the van. Like clock work, the robots pulled up to the van, opened the back and began unloading. Cassie and Gregory ran out of the van, Gregory carrying Freddy’s head in his bag. The last time they had entered the Pizzaplex to confront The Mimic and Glitchtrap, the storytelling animatronic had ripped Freddy apart. In spite of all his upgrades. The damage Roxy faired little better being blind and badly damaged.
Then there were Bonnie, Chica and Monty, whom Gregory felt a slight twinge of guilt for decommissioning. Cassie loved them, especially Roxy, and seeing them like this was extremely upsetting to her. Even more so the grim knowledge that her father's brain was inside Maskbot, still alive. Then the shattered remains of The Black Rabbit and Strings were carried out, followed by Eclipse, whom was surprisingly able to walk out under his own power still. Finally the M.X.E.S mainframe was carried into the building, with Vanessa, Gregory and Cassie following up behind. Inside, they found crates of robotic parts, tools and other supplies. Some of which were decades old. Various suits from past animatronic generations were visible as they made their way to the repair station.
“Gregory, so many of these old animatronics.... they remind me of myself and my friends.” Freddy commented, somewhat existentially. “Is-Is this all we are meant for? Are we so easily disposable?” he asked. “Can I call myself unique if there were so many Freddys before me? Am I too destined to be discarded, used for parts, or simply forgotten about in a dark warehouse? If I am replaced, will anyone care that I’m gone?”
“Uuuum, I’ll care, if that helps.” Gregory replied, trying to reassure Freddy. “You’re my friend, and an adopted dad.”
“I would miss you, Freddy.” Cassie added. “So we need to get you fixed up. You, Roxy, my dad....” she trailed off. The revelation that her father’s brain was now stuck in Maskbot was still a hard thing to accept. “Vanessa, can we put my dad back in his body?” Vanessa turned to her. A grim look on the woman’s face.
“I don’t know Cassie.” She said flatly. “I don’t know if we can even remove him from Maskbot without killing him! Or if his physical brain is in there or just his mental and possibly spiritual self.” She kneeled down, hugging Cassie. “But I will try everything I can, I promise you.” Cassie hugged her tightly and cried. Her entire world had been turned upside down in the past few days, and things seemed to only go from bad to worse. She was forced to break the hug, as a headless endoskeleton was brought in with several suit pieces as well as the upgrades used for Monty’s claws. Freddy still had Roxy's eyes and Chica’s voice box as those were in his head.
Gregory reluctantly placed Freddy’s head inside the repair station. He looked away as Freddy’s head was attached to the endoskeleton, and had its casing removed. Seeing him stripped of what was left was almost unthinkable for him. Vanessa worked the controls, bringing in a spotless new replacement case for Freddy. Him now sporting black “gloves" denoting the upgrades to his hands and claws. It wasn’t long before The repair chamber opened and the metallic thunking of footsteps could be heard. Gregory turned around and his face lit up.
“Freddy!” He cried, hugging the large, robot bear. Freddy gently returned his embrace.
“Gregory, it’s good to see you are happy with my repairs.” Freddy said, approximating a smile as best he could.
“I’m just glad you’re all better now.” Gregory said, almost in tears. Next was Roxy, whom in spite of her suit being totally destroyed had her endoskeleton in good shape. As the station began disassembling her suit, she grabbed one of the robotics hands unexpectedly.
“R-Roxy?!” Cassie shouted, shocked that the robotic wolf and keytarist of the band had seemingly come back online of her own volition.
“No, NO!” Roxanne cried out in anguish. “Not the mask! Please, DON’T TAKE MY MASK!”
“Roxy stop!” Vanessa ordered. “We’re trying to fix you!”
“My face! I’ll be so ugly without my face!” Roxy shouted, sitting up in the chair and crying uncontrollably.
“I didn’t think I would feel bad for Roxy.” Gregory murmured.
“Gregory....” Roxy growled, throwing herself at the glass. “GIVE ME BACK MY EYES!”
“ROXY PLEASE!” Cassie cried. “Please stop!” She pleaded, her voice almost cracking.
“C-Cassie?” Roxy asked, starting to calm down. Cassie seemed to have a calming effect on her.
“Roxy, I know you’re angry, and scared and upset, but we are trying to fix you. Please.... let me help you the way you helped me.” Cassie pleaded.
“But, my face.... I’m so ugly without my face.” Roxy replied, hanging her head in shame, beginning to cry. “I don’t want anyone to see me like that, not Freddy, not the others and especially not you.” She sobbed.
“Roxy, I don’t care what you look like under the mask.” Cassie told her. “I know what your endo looks like. I saw how dad would work on you. Besides you were nice to me, and helped make what started as a terrible birthday into a nice one.” She entered the chamber, and hugged Roxy, before removing her mask. She then stepped out again, as Roxy was fully fitted with the same upgrades as Freddy before having a brand new casing placed on her. Cassie reentered the chamber after the repairs were complete with a hand mirror. “See? You’re beautiful, as always.” Cassie told her.
Roxanne hugged her and carried her out, glaring at Gregory. Gregory hid behind Freddy, not wanting to get into arms length of Roxanne Wolf. Vanessa gave a sigh, while expected, she could only imagine how Monty would be. Last she had seen him, he was not in his right mind. Almost completely feral. She could only imagine how he would react to Gregory. ‘Maybe I should do Bonnie or Chica next.’ She thought to herself.
