Okay, so, in Security Breach there is a room with a table and 5 security bots sitting at this table, representing the Afton family. William Afton is represented by a magician security bot, but why?
First of all in the fnaf silver eyes trilogy, this is what he says:
TSE p. 176: “I think it’s got an aura, a mystical energy, maybe…”
TSE 184: “I think I can work some magic.”
TFC p. 173: “What you see before you is a combination of all sorts of machinations and magic.”
TFC p. 317: “Or you can take a drop of pixie dust.”
TSE p. 344: “I helped (Henry) create.”
TSE p. 109: …whatever alchemy (Henry) had performed in his workshop.
TFC p. 317: “It’s an interesting alchemy.” (Alchemy is science mixed with magic)
This mention of magic ties in with the fact that he'd be represented by a magician.
Scott said in his Dawko interview that he does put science fiction into both the FNAF games and novels. (46:40 in the timecode.)
In the short story at the end of the book “1:35 AM” after page 243-260, a scientist who is very similar to William Afton uses magic to create light shields that prevent the transfer of negative energy. This is an actual spell practiced by pagan spiritualists in real life.
In TTO, William can canonically control the animatronics remotely seemingly using his mind and is able see through their eyes.
TTO p. 258: “I’ve been a master of all these creatures…All the animatronics are linked together; it was a system designed to control the choreography for the shows. Now I control the system. I control the choreography….able to see through the eyes of my creatures.”
This mention of magic ties in with the fact that he'd be represented by a magician.
Secondly, the fazbear frights story 'the real jake'
Now, Evan (Jake's father) and Margie (the nanny looking after Jake), are in a way somewhat a parallel to in-game William. However not personality wise or anything, but in the sense that Jake has a 'friend' called Simon that is actually an inanimate 'doll' that lives in his 'white cabinet' in which Jake's father communicates to him with using a speaker and audio distorter from overseas while at work, similar to how it's theorized that William Afton talks to BV using the fredbear plush. So, how does this link to magic? Well, something interesting to note is that Margie and Evan both say this:
Margie described feeling like a magician, with the magic secrets hidden behind a shimmering curtain. (referring to the Simon doll) As well as this, Evan told Margie that they needed some "magic" (again, referring to the doll)
This probably didn't require such an explanation, but I saw some people confused as to why William was 'the magician', well, here is why! :) (In my opinion, anyway)
