(I hope I don't get attacked for this)
I like him and all, but he got a few errors around.
With the scene of locking Julius, did he ever give any thought? Why didn't he think about the exoskeleton Julius built and what's gonna happen? What if it's dangerous? What if it kills Julius? Why did he do NONE of that?
Although, it could be justified since he probably did it out of impulse (maybe his anger took the best of his fairness?)
And the noises. He ignored the noises. He never even bother to fully investigate and check if it was Julius. Or maybe he just isn't clear if it's dangerous since it is possible it could be his imagination.
And lastly, why didn't he tell his friends? Why didn't he tell his friends about what he did? Is he afraid of what they would think?
Maybe this could cut it??
I'm not sure but I don't care. The story was an interesting reed though.
There are errors, and I don't hate him. But I do not condone his actions, no one should. A teenager does not deserve to die.
There are just my thoughts.
No really, it so similar. The plan Jessica and Brittsny has is just what Julius wanted to do with Reed. Just that it a springlock suit.
No, you are not reading TBW again, your reading its ripoff
The Breaking Wheel but it is with a girl
Don't check this out if you don't like body horror and disturbing images
I'm surprised there isn't much more fanart of this story,
I mean-
It's pure nightmare fuel, the first time I read this book, I have a heart attack.
I couldn't sleep for days and I just keep my windows locked.
I kept everything in my house locked because of this and I always look up to the ceiling.
It is chilling, fucking scary. Probably the more gruesome and goriest story I ever read.
Took me 2 weeks to get over it.
But I see why people didn't draw it since it is pretty difficult to draw a character like him and it has graphic imagery.
Still, this story fucking scares me, it's the darkest, most terrifying scare factor I ever read

Warning for gore: It's the Breaking Wheel
Pickle and Shelly looked around for Reed. “I’m checking the second floor,” Pickle told his sister.
He was horrified by what he saw.
Reed was bloody and messy. His bones had been beaten. His limbs had been cut at the connections to the torso. His head had been twisted and sliced, barely attached to the body like the limbs. His joints had been twisted unnaturally, like a zigzag. His eyes had been stabbed out, now just pools of blood. His mouth had been sliced ear to ear, like a sick smile.
Pickle screamed. “Shelly! SHELLY, REED’S DEAD!”
His sister ran up the stairs. “What do you mean he’s-JESUS CHRIST!”
Pickle hadn’t noticed the twisted exoskeleton on his bed. A fleshy mangled human trapped inside a robotic suit. Like the animatronics in Freddy’s, but the costume ripped off. He was barely recognisable, nothing but a pile of broken bones, flesh and blood.
Shelly ran back down the stairs. “I’m calling the cops.”
When the cops arrived, they checked the bodies. They took some DNA samples to help identify the fleshy mess on the bed.
And somehow, they thought Pickle did it. So they took him into the station. Shelly could barely contain it.
Reed slowly woke up. Where was he? What was going on?
Julius sat crisscrossed in front of him. “What are you doing here?” Julius asked.
Reed was happy he looked somewhat recognisable. He was covered in wounds, his hair was practically dyed red in blood, and he held his arms in pain, but he still looked human.
Reed had been in similar condition. His hair was coated in blood, his bones ached, he felt pain everywhere. His eyes hurt, his jaw felt disconnected.
“What? What’s going on?”
“Oh. Right,” Julius leaned closer. “I won. And for my prize, you will be my slave.”
“What the heck? What’s going on?” Reed felt concussed, maybe all that blood loss had messed with his head.
“You moron! I KILLED YOU! And now you are trapped in this suit with me. So I might as well make you my slave.”
“Slave? Why would I be your slave?”
“Because I’m in control of this suit. And I’m going to make it hurt, even more than it already does. So, you're my slave now! Or do you want to know what true pain feels like?”
Reed was too dazed to really consider the thought. Slave? To Julius? He never wanted that.
But his brain wasn’t working. So he just said, “ok.” It even took Julius by surprise, but he was pleased.
“Good. Now, as your first order-”
Julius noticed Ory come into the room with Pickle’s remote control, Shelly shortly behind him.
“Don’t,” Shelly told her brother. “That thing killed Reed. Mess with it and it will kill you too.”
“I thought Pickle killed Reed,” Ory said.
“That’s what the cops think, but I know he didn’t. Now let's leave.”
Shelly grabbed a few boxes and left.
“What’s going on?” Reed asked.
“They’re moving,” Julius said.
“Can we check on my family?” Reed asked.
“Absolutely not! Slaves aren’t supposed to have families.”
“But, my sister and dad.”
Julius crosses his arms. “It has to be quick.”
Julius took Reed out of the house and into the woods, so no one would see. When they crawled back out, they were behind Reed’s house.
“Alex! DAD!” Reed shouted. Julius was realizing he was slowly regaining some sanity. Slowly. Julius estimated it would take maybe a few weeks. How much blood had he lost?
Alexa stepped onto the back deck. Julius and Reed hid behind a tree.
Reed’s father hugged her. “I’m sorry Alexa. I’m sorry I’m not a good father. I’m sorry your mother is gone. I’m sorry,” he sniffled, “I’m sorry your brother is gone.”
Reed stared blankly at his family. Julius actually felt worried for him.
“Your family is mourning your death. My family wouldn’t.”
Reed looked at Julius. “What’s wrong with your family?” Reed asked.
“What would you like to know, punk!” Julius yelled.
Reed hadn’t recovered yet. It had been thirty years.
Reed still stared off into the distance, still obeyed Julius, possibly out of fear or the eternal concussion.
Julius and Reed were suddenly shoved into the wall. The boys writhed in pain.
“Who the fuck did this!” Julius shouted.
A man stood in the doorway. He had short brown hair, deep purple skin and dark blue eyes. He wore a white button up shirt, jeans and boots. He held Ory’s remote control.
“Put that down!” Julius shouted.
The man smiled. “My name is Michael. I’m trying to help people like you two who have been screwed up by these damn animatronics.”
“So, you want to help us?” Reed asked.
Michael nodded.
“Prove it!” Julius shouted, still mad at the controller.
Michael threw the remote on the floor and stepped on it. Pieces flew everywhere.
“Thank you,” Julius said, surprised. “I guess we can trust you.”
“Doesn’t he have a say in this?” Michael asked.
“Shut up, grape man! He doesn’t have a say.”
Michael brought his hand up to his ear. Julius blinked and suddenly he was Caucasian.
“Why doesn’t he?”
Julius leaned in closer. “I think I gave him a concussion when I killed him, and now he’s just kinda brain dead.”
Michael nodded, apparently not bothered by murder. “Ok, both of you. In the truck.”

Alec, Reed, Kelsey and CC only had two bottles of water and a box of chicken between them. They hadn’t slept amazingly, but they had slept. Kelsey was sure they had that over the other contestants.
But he knew at least one of them was lying about their role.
“We need to eat,” Alec said.
“There isn’t enough! Reed shouted. “And who knows when we’ll get to eat again.”
“We should try to-”
CC’s head exploded in blood. Alec, Reed and Kelsey stood defensive. Alec chased after the man who put a bullet in the baby boy's head.
When he returned, Kelsey held CC’s body. He was dead. Kelsey pulled him closer. “He didn’t deserve that.”
Kelsey hid him in a bush. He grabbed the box of chicken hidden in the bush.
Kelsey wanted to be happy, but he just sat up and kept walking.
Michael waited for the siren. He waited for the evening announcement. He wanted to sleep.
“The following Hiders have been killed: CC, Toby and Angel. The following Seekers have been killed: Oscar and Sam.”
CC! He was in here! No! He didn’t deserve this! No!
“Only one of you will be leaving this place alive. This is the end of this broadcast.”
That was what Michael was waiting for. He knew it! Only one person was going to be able to win.
He could almost hear the sounds of teams breaking apart and killing each other. He couldn’t wait to see the ground dyed red from the blood.
He may have been hanging out with his dad too much.
He climbed up a tree and made a place to rest. People would be too distracted killing their teammates to hunt other people.
Michael drifted off to sleep, for the first time in months.
Kelsey didn’t have the courage to chase down the adult man holding a sword. He clearly didn’t care for murder.
Kelsey didn’t take the time to see his appearance. All he saw was the purple button off.
Kelsey grabbed a few knives. He was about to go back to hiding, but he heard something.
A blond boy and a brown haired boy ran past him.
“Help! My sins have come back to haunt me!” the brunette ran. They both hid behind him.
“What sin of nature is that?” Kelsey asked.
“I just said. Mine!” the brunette said.
It was indescribable. There was what used to be a man, broken and ripped apart, standing in front of him, dyed in blood.
Kelsey held the knives defensively. The creature looked towards him
“Reed…”
BLAST! Blood splattered everywhere.
The trio ducked. The amalgamation fell to the ground. A small boy with a black and white striped shirt stood behind him, holding a crossbow.
“Who are you?” Kelsey asked. He seemed familiar, in a way.
“I’m CC. I want to team up. I can’t find Andrew, Cassidy or my family. I’m scared.”
“It’s alright. I’m Kelsey. No idea who they are, but yeah. I’ll team up with you.”
“I’m Alec,” the blond said.
“Reed,” the other guy said.
“We shouldn’t stay out in the open. We need to hide,” CC led us through the thin woods.
Michael pondered the advantages and disadvantages of teaming up.
On one hand, they’d be an easier target. You could never be sure if they were telling you the truth about their role.
No one knew how many winners there could be. What if there was only one winner? If they announced that teams would go on a murderous rage.
On the other hand, they could help each other. Two or three hiders, holding a sword and a knife could probably out fight one seeker with a gun. At least in close combat. And you could get some sleep while they guarded you.
But Michael knew he would be the one who would be killed first if they did need to split up.
He heard the siren. It was time for the death tally.
“The following Hiders have been killed: John and Matt. The following Seekers have been killed: Julius and Mott. There are 13 Seekers and 9 Hiders left.”
Michael didn’t recognize a single name. He didn’t think that would last long. He also figured at some point they would be able to name the survivors.
“Food and water is to be supplied in boxes in bushes, trees and rocks. This is the end of this broadcast.”
Michael searched the bush he was hiding behind. He opened it up. There was a piece of fried chicken in the box.
Now, as a corpse with no organs, he couldn’t eat this. But maybe he could blackmail someone with this.
Michael had gone weeks without sleep, what was one more day.
