To understand all the new buzz about the latest Tales of the Pizzaplex story, you need to understand perhaps the only somewhat interesting bit of Security Breach lore, the CDs. Once hitting 6AM, you unlock the first of the CDs at the Atrium. The rest are hidden throughout the Pizzaplex to be found using Roxy’s eyes in the post game. You can also find a hidden room with a CD player. (More details in the Retro CDs page in the wiki.) By inserting the disks into the player one by one, you listen to therapist sessions. It becomes obvious there are two sets of recordings, one set, the 71 series, being Vanessa. The other set, 46, being unknown. I’m not going to go into details, I have old posts doing so, but in short, Patient 46 as we call them, was a manipulator, caused the disappearance of 2 therapists and the confirmed death of another, and hacked the Pizzaplex. Some people have always theorized P46 to be Gregory due to his violence to the animatronics, ability to repair Freddy, and the fact that at least one therapist would talk to P46 as if they were young, alluding to cubbyholes, and explaining the meaning of phenom. A couple more things is that P46’s chair, “was not fit for them”, and the fact that they immediately took offered candy. I’ll come back to this later.
Now, on to GGY.
GGY, as I said, is the latest Tales of the Pizzaplex story. From what we know, and I’ll give the very, very short version, there is a kid named Greg. Greg is also known as GGY, a mysterious player with high scores leagues above the rest on the Arcade games in the Pizzaplex. Like many other Tales details, these high scores under player GGY can be seen in the game. His description matches Gregory.
GGY is revealed to stay overnight at the Pizzaplex using a hacked Playpass card. Two things in SB support this. Firstly, a scrapped voiceline, Glamrock Freddy points out the exploitative properties of the security passes, remarking how it would require someone dishonest to exploit them, hoping nobody is as dishonest. Second, something I thought up myself while typing this up, it can explain some of the hidden areas that appeared to be lived in in SB, such as in Daycare Attendant’s room and Pirates Cove. Remember, aside the FFPS basement, only one such area is marked with Vanny’s name, the place the Disassemble and Save Vanny endings take place.
GGY is revealed to have hacked the Pizzaplex robots, leaving behind his signature using random G’s and Y’s in the code. As of this moment I’m having people check if this matches the code we see Freddy executing before he collapses at the start of SB.
GGY is also responsible for the disappearances of specifically 3 school therapists, killing them in the Pizzaplex, and presumably kills the protagonist of the story as well. This would account for half of the disappeared persons labeled on the newspaper in the Bad Ending. (I will have to clarify, as the page was wrong, the newspaper says missing residents and does not specify children. While some of the images more resemble kids, some could easily be adults.)
Now, onto the differences.
As seen, GGY easily fits P46. However there are some details that do not make sense.
Very consistently, alternate language translations of Security Breach identify P46 as female. People have thus been led to believe, should Gregory be P46, that he is trans. However, neither Gregory nor GGY give any indication as such. Both are young children, and neither identity as female at any point.
Disappearances, death, and hacking are all Afton’s strengths. And given Afton is right under the Pizzaplex, operating through Vanny, he could easily be the cause. Some might say he is connected to Gregory, but Gregory does 1, not recognize him. 2, tries to kill him, and 3 has to avoid being killed BY Afton. And Gregory is not known to be good at hacking. Pressing buttons on a Simon Says is not nearly the level of hacking a mall superplex’s systems and irrevocably hacking the animatronics.
P46 is said to have had a normal childhood, however Gregory has no file on record and is by all accounts homeless. If he is homeless, he would not have had access to the school therapists, and obviously, would not have had a normal childhood.
Gregory aims to stop the disappearances by stopping Vanny. If he were responsible for at least half of them, I don’t think he’d be that way.
And before people say it, I have to mention just how connected Tales of the Pizzaplex is to Security Breach. There are numerous connections, far too many to ignore. I believe for the purposes of this wiki, Tales is being treated as canon to the games, so sadly, it being a book is not an admissible argument.
Feel free to discuss. Remind me of any details I have missed and could add, and I will do so.
