He doesn’t possess anything. He’s gone. That was the point of the first film. That he’s gone and Mike should accept that, look forward, and stay with abby. Making the puppet garret was always a stupid concept that would have ruined the first film.

There's literally nothing else for him to possess. Freddy and the gang? The MCI. The Puppet? MCI.
