what is going on man i leave for a couple hours and this thread is just full of "No!" and "Why?"

Because they for some reason refuse to elaborate and i'm trying to figure out why.

well, it's not really a guideline rule but more as an unwritten rule.. consistent pings can sometimes flood inboxes and such and it might set back notifications, making it harder to see

How would you know? If they SAY yes, then it's fine. If they say nothing, then don't ping them.

Then don't ping them. Or better yet, ask! Most people tend to be understanding about that kind of situation.

Sometimes when I don't ping them it doesn't send the message to them, usually someone else that replied to the comment. But yeah I understand.
