TLDR: The FNaF Wiki has enabled a new feature called the "Thanks" feature. This feature has been in testing for months on other wikis and was recently released across all wikis. This feature allows you to send an automated "thanks" message to someone by viewing a page's history. This change does not affect non-editors much.
Yesterday, the FNaF wiki enabled a new option called the "Thanks" option. This feature, in a nutshell, allows editors to send automated thank you messages to other editors by viewing a page's history and pressing the "Thanks" button. For more general information about the "Thanks" feature, view the FANDOM Community Central link discussing it below. I'll also be going over some commonly asked questions about the feature below the link.

How does Thanks work?
Like the post mentioned, going into any page's history and pressing the "Thanks" button will allow you to send an automated "Thanks" message to a recipient user. A notification will appear in their notifications feed, and it functions like any other notification.
Why did you enable Thanks?
Editor retention is important on wikis like ours - we have had thousands of editors visit the site, but only about a dozen or more are consistently active currently. Back in a FANDOM survey, recognition was chosen as an important factor for editing and continuing to edit for many users. The "Thanks" feature will allow users to gain recognition and hopefully increase user retention.
Why was Thanks enabled now rather than earlier?
I suppose that we could have contacted FANDOM earlier to join the tests the feature, but we just enabled it recently as of its wide release.
I'm worried about getting spammed "Thanks" notifications/I don't need Thanks notifications.
There is a way to disable "Thanks" notifications. Simply go to your preferences (accessible via your profile at the bottom left hand of the desktop UI), the Notifications tab, and disable all options related to "Thanks".
I don't edit the wiki. How does this affect me?
The "Thanks" feature does not affect non-editors of the wiki, as it only applies to edits and cannot be used on posts or messages. If you don't actively edit the wiki, then do not worry about this new feature.
Thank you for reading this update!
