A lawyer is a very common species to be found in the world. They are a subtype of human and often reside in court, taking on cases and verbally beating the shit out of people. It is rumored that lawyers do not have hearts, although this news is yet to be confirmed.
A plot hole in the story: Why didn't Doug just go tell the police after that meeting? Perhaps he was either too scared, he was threatened, or maybe killed, although I doubt the last one. It's still a possibility, though.
I felt bad for Doug in the Sparky's diner scene where MatPat asked them if they wanted to eat, he was about to say something but Aunt Jane shut it all down. Poor guy must've been hungry.
