Aiden always felt something off about that clown. Coils they called him.
His father Mike led him through the pizzeria. “Don’t worry Aiden, we’ll find Colton.”
A staff member, Ted as his name tag said, pried open the power box behind Coils. He dropped the panel and screamed.
“Jimmy! CODE RED!”
Mike ran over to the clown. He looked in horror. Colton… he knew it was Colton. He didn’t like it… but…
“Ok, first things first,” Jimmy said. “You call the cops. Me and Bethany will get the customers out of here.”
Mike wondered if they had done this before.
Coils put a hand on his shoulder. “He didn’t deserve that,” the clown said. “He only wanted to make it a fair game.”
Mike looked at what he knew for certainty were his nephew’s remains.
“This is all my fault,” Mike muttered to himself. The clown wrapped it’s long hands around him.
“You gave him the tools, it was him who used it to get himself killed.”
“He wouldn’t have gotten himself killed if I hadn't given him the-”
“Sir, calm down.” A man approached Aiden’s dad. He had brown hair, dark blue eyes, light skin and looked to be in his late teens. He wore a purple shirt, uniform of Freddy’s, though he didn’t have the badge.
“People die at Freddy’s all the time. We can give you compensation, though I know it won’t be enough to make up for it. He obviously meant a lot to you.”
Mike pushed the kid away. “Appreciated kid, but it’s my fault. I shouldn’t be given anything.”
“We all have things that we’d rather forget. Things we feel are all our fault. Rarely are they ever.”
Mike turned to the kid. “Are you gonna be a therapist?”
The teen gave an awkward smile. “Sir, I’m too busy being in therapy.”
The teen looked at the clown one last time before heading back to his job.
Colton rested in the animatronic. It had been decades since the incident. It still hurts.
A man walked into the pizzeria, now abandoned. He was that teenager! Now he was older, maybe mid thirties.
“Colton?” he asked. He looked over at Coils. “Sorry I didn’t find you sooner.”
The man placed a picture of his family in front of the animatronic. “They said hi.”
